ELKALUB is introducing two new lubricating oils with H1 approval for robot gearboxes. This makes us one of the first manufacturers to offer lubricants that are approved for use in robots in the pharmaceutical and food processing industries. The new oils, LFC 92100 and LFC 921000, are used to lubricate shaft gears and worm gears, respectively. Both oils have been in use for more than a year in robots from an internationally renowned manufacturer without any issues and have convincingly proven their practical suitability.
In the pharmaceutical and food processing industries, manual labor is still frequently required. The potential for automation - particularly flexible automation using robots - is therefore high. In these industries, HACCP certification of manufacturing processes is mandatory. This almost always necessitates the use of H1 lubricants. With the new LFC 92100 and LFC 921000 oils, a significantly higher degree of automation is now possible. We expect that demand for H1-approved oils will rise due to the new applications in the pharmaceutical and food processing industries. Therefore, we also plan to expand the product range to include additional viscosity grades.
The requirements for lubricants used in robot gearboxes are demanding: these systems operate at high speeds, with high accelerations and forces, while maintaining extremely tight tolerances. At the same time, the robots must operate with high precision. Until now, only conventional lubricants could meet these requirements. By combining high-quality synthetic oils with a balanced additive package, we can now offer oils that match the performance of conventional lubricants.
