Technical data
Operating temperature: -30 °C to 700 °C
Viscosity at 40°C (active ingredient): 400 mm²/s
Base oil: polyglycol
Thickener: inorganic
Brake systems in passenger cars and trucks use polyglycol-based brake fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 5.1). These fluids are characterized by high boiling points, minimal temperature-viscosity variation, and low water absorption. These properties prevent vapor lock and brake failure in cold weather. Lubricants that come into contact with EPDM membranes or seals must also be polyglycol-based (PAG). ELKALUB offers a wide range of EPDM-compatible lubricants for ABS and ESP valves, as well as for gearboxes and bearings in electric parking brakes. In addition, mineral oil-based brake greases are used for calipers and pad guides.

Traditional brake grease is applied to the pad guides of the brake caliper. These areas face extreme demands: high temperature resistance, water resistance, and excellent adhesion. Mineral oil-based brake greases provide reliable protection against corrosion and prevent squeaking noises.
Important: This grease is suitable exclusively for guides and sliding surfaces, but not for brake cylinders. EPDM seals used there would be damaged by mineral oils. Therefore, only EPDM-compatible PAG-based lubricants are used in these areas.
With this clear distinction, ELKALUB ensures that braking systems function reliably even under the most demanding conditions. Purchasing managers and developers benefit from a wide selection of proven products that guarantee the highest levels of safety and compatibility.
